Lesson One, Walking

Yes, walking may seem pretty common sense, but in order to survive Manhattan, here are some things to keep in mind:

1) Your group should not take up the entire sidewalk. You don't need to all stand next to each other. It's obnoxious to people trying to get where they need to go. Don't turn the sidwalk into a game of Red Rover. You can stand in groups of two or three in front of each other!

2) If you need to stop, move to the side so that other pedestrians can easily get around you.

3) If you're in more of a leisurely stroll mood, don't be surprised if you get bumped by others who are in a hurry!
